Maribeth Cantu, director of nursing at Life Care Center of Haltom in Fort Worth, Texas, was named Director of Nursing of the Year for Life Care Centers of America’s Gulf States Region on April 20, 2015.
The award was presented during Life Care’s annual Directors of Nursing Meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. It is given to the director of nursing in each of Life Care’s divisions who best demonstrates outstanding qualities in several areas, including customer service ratings, staff development and successful state surveys.
“As a professional nurse, Maribeth places the highest priority on the residents in her care,” said LeeAnn Parker, regional director of clinical services. “Through establishing relationships with others across the spectrum of the health care team, she strives to ensure the highest level of care and services are provided to all. She is the cheerleader watching a rehabilitation patient take those first steps toward independence and the comforting presence to others as life draws to a close.”
“Maribeth Cantu is a living example of what the honorable nursing profession is all about,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She administers her God-given talents in a spirit of love and compassion to help make the lives of others better. We’re proud of her and all of our nursing award winners.”
Life Care honored seven other divisional winners and a Company-wide Director of Nursing of the Year, as well as a customer service winner.
